FIRST RECONCILIATION/FIRST COMMUNION AT HOLY INNOCENTS
Parent/ Child Orientation Meeting with Fr. Johnson on Sunday September 29th at 12noon down in the church hall.
How does the preparation work?
Parents will help their son or daughter prepare for Frist Reconciliation in the fall and then First Communion Preparation will begin after Christmas to be celebrated in the Spring.
- Parents will bring their children to the Sunday morning F.U.T.U.R.Es program that meets most Sundays 9:15am - 10:15am in the parish hall. Siblings grades 1-8th are welcome and a nursery is provided for preschoolers.
- Parents will work with their child to complete a 6 chapter textbook at home for each sacrament.
- When the textbook is complete, parents and their child will meet with an assigned Sacramental Ambassador who will look over your child's textbook and listen to the memorized prayers and make sure your child knows how to celebrate First Reconciliation and First Communion.
What's the Cost?
While no one will be turned away for lack of funds, we ask for a donation of $65 per child to help cover the cost of textbooks and supplies. (This includes the cost of the F.U.T.U.R.E.s program, but we ask you to please register any siblings that will be attending the F.U.T.U.R.E. with your First Communion Candidate.)
