Mission
Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) offers person-to-person service to the poor and suffering living in our community. In doing this work, we all enrich our lives spiritually. SVdP is an international voluntary organization founded in 1833 in Paris, France. The Holy Innocents conference was established in 1997, and is part of the Seattle/King County SVdP Council.
Holy Innocents Conference Overview
Home visits are the core of our work. We make home visits within our parish boundary to offer support and compassion, as well as help with rent, utility assistance, furniture, food, firewood, and other services. We always go on home visits in pairs, to talk with neighbors in their homes. We strive to see the face of Christ in everyone we serve.
How You Can Support St. Vincent de Paul
- Volunteering - We always welcome new volunteers with fresh perspectives and open hearts, willing to respond to our neighbors in need. The time commitment is flexible. Each Vincentian decides how much they are able to participate. The Holy Innocents SVdP conference meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the lower level of the church for spiritual reflection, and to discuss business and conference activities. - Donations - The majority of funding for the Holy Innocents conference comes from parishioner donations made through the 5th Sunday SVdP envelopes. One-time or recurring donations can be made by clicking the Online Giving button below. We are grateful for your support!
How to Request Assistance
Those in need can call the St. Vincent de Paul Helpline at 206-767-6449. Calls are accepted Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM. Please do not call the church office to request assistance.
