Faith Formation 2020-2021

"A Parish Wide Intergenerational Experience of Growing in Faith"

Families with children, Teens and Adults

Our Catholic faith comprises what we believe and how we live that belief. For 2,000 years, this Catholic faith has been handed down from one generation to next, starting with Jesus Christ passing the faith to the Twelve Apostles. In our own lives, we may receive that faith from our parents, from friends, or even a stranger we meet.

This year Holy Innocents Faith Formation Ministry will be set up in such a way that the whole parish will focus on the same virtue each month. All ages, from the youngest disciple to the eldest of us will journey together in our desire to know and learn about God and deepen our relationship with Christ.

This Year's Theme: "Faith"

"As for us, our hope is that God willput us right with Him, and this is what we wait for by the power of God's Spirit working through our Faith" (Gal 5:5)

How it works?

All Through the month: Parishioners will be invited to come by the church either after the masses or during church open hours to pick up a momento to celebrate and remember our learning from the previous month.

Each Month on the First Sunday, we will introduce the monthly theme -

  • children with families will be invited to attend (either in-person or virtually)  a live morning F.U.T.U.R.E's (Families United Together Undertaking Religious Education) presentation on the theme.
  • Teens and Adults will be invited to view a short presentation by Fr.Anh that will be posted on our website

The second and third Sundays of the Month

  • children with families will be invited to attend the Sunday Morning F.U.T.U.R.E's Gospel "Table Talk" presented live (either in-person or vitually) and to check out our website which will host a number of resource and activite options for famlies to do at home with their children. (There will also be options for parents and guardians who are raising children in the faith)
  • Teens will be invited to check out the website for bits and pieces of learning about our faith which is appropriate to their age
  • Adults will be invited to check out the website for options and activities of different kinds, from book titles, articles, suggested movies or songs that focus on our monthly theme. There may also be small group opportunities either in-person or virtually as well.

Fourth Sunday of the month: "Celebration Sunday" Share what you've learned

All parishioners will be invited to drop by the church this week to offer a token of their learning for the month -- some ideas might be to bring a picture of yourself or your family engaging in one of the activities; printing or writing a couple sentances on what you learned and placing it in a parish notebook for others to read and refelct upon; Meeting in a small group with Fr.Anh to discuss the montly topic (BYOCoffee)

(October  Website "Play Lists"  for each age group  and Father Anh's video presentation will be posted on Sunday October 4th)

Families with children will be emailed a link each week for the Sunday Morning Live Presentations.
